NTA Access Policies

Equity Statement

The National Theatre Archive (NTA) makes its resources and services available to the general public. We strive to facilitate equitable and inclusive access to the collection and to accommodate all inquiries to the best of our ability.

Accessing the Collection

Please submit reference and research inquiries to information@nationaltheatre.org.

To browse The National Theatre Archive’s collection, refer to the Collection Finding Aid and container lists located within the Collection Information page.

Records in the collection which contain confidential or personally identifiable information are closed for research purposes. Locations of restricted records are noted in both the Collection Finding Aid and within the individual container lists.

Currently, The National Theatre Archive does not provide on-site research services. Special requests for in-person access to the collection should be directed to information@nationaltheatre.org and are subject to approval by the Executive Director.

Requesting Access Copies

A digital access copy is a reproduction of an archival item delivered as a digital file. Researchers may request digital access copies of any non-restricted materials within the collection.

Please submit access copy requests to information@nationaltheatre.org.

A service fee may be charged for high-volume copy requests. The Archivist will communicate the estimated time needed to process the request as well as any applicable fees in advance.

Loan of Materials

Currently, The National Theatre Archive does not loan out collection materials.

In some circumstances, The National Theatre Archive may temporarily loan original archival materials for exhibition. Loan requests are subject to the approval by the Executive Director and Archivist.
