Securing the Future
In December of 2025, The National Theatre Foundation purchased The National Theatre from its corporate landlord. For the first time in 190 years, the renowned venue is now owned by the non-profit entity dedicated to its preservation and care.
The last major renovation of The National Theatre occurred in 1984. In the more than 40 years since then, theatre technology has grown by leaps and bounds while gradual wear and tear of age, and millions of visitors, have taken a toll on our facilities. Help secure the future of The National Theatre for generations to come.
