Roster Artist – The National Theatre’s Community Stages
The National Theatre Foundation seeks applications from artists based in the Washington, DC metropolitan area for The National Theatre’s Community Stages program. Community Stages (formerly Community Stage Connections) creates deeply personal performing arts experiences for audiences who are geographically, emotionally, economically, or physically isolated. Our primary partners are Children’s National Hospital and several adult day healthcare centers and assisted living facilities in the greater metropolitan area. Our artists represent a wide range of disciplines and demonstrate excellence in artistry, education, and community engagement.
We welcome applications from performing artists and arts educators with expertise in acting, puppetry, clowning, storytelling, instrumental music, vocal music, dance, and/or dramatic writing. Consideration may be given to artists and educators with active, participatory practices in visual arts and creative writing. We especially encourage applications from historically underrepresented groups.
Compensation is $250-$400 per program for solo artists, contingent upon experience; travel assistance available. Higher rates for duos negotiable and contingent upon experience.
