This series brings children and their families to the National in Fall, Winter and Spring for theatre, music, dance, clowning, juggling, story-telling, magic and instructional nature and science shows.
 

Ms. Pat Jennings jpg (8k)Inaugurated in 1980, this program has been continually presented under the generous patronage of Marriott International, Inc. and the J. Willard Marriott Foundationfrom that date forward. The performances were initiated and produced for 14 years by Kathleen M. Barry, and are now produced by Donn B. Murphy, with presentations hosted by Patricia Jennings (pictured).

Performances are in the Helen Hayes Gallery at the National. Admission is free, but tickets are required, and are distributed 30 minutes before each performance, on a first-come, first-seated basis. Program schedules can be secured by sending a Self-Addressed, Stamped Envelope to "Saturday Morning," National Theatre, 1321 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW, Washington, D.C. 20004. DAZZLING DANCES OF SPAIN features the DANZA DEL RIO COMPANY in choreography  ranging from the fancy footwork, explosive clapping and snapping castanets of the fiery Flamenco -- to exuberant regional and refined classical dances of earlier centuries.  Live guitar and colorful authentic costumes add flavor.

BARRYMORE EAGLE, the mascot of the National Theatre will be on hand on opening day, with clowns and balloons, to launch the season and celebrate ARTS ON FOOT.   Bring your camera!!!

After the show, enjoy the >ARTS ON FOOT festival at many galleries, theatres and stages in downtown Washington.
