sublime melodies written by Sir Charles Chaplin. Best known for his
on-screen “Little Tramp” character, Chaplin also created music throughout
his 50-year career, in several musical styles. Lyric tenor MICHAEL

AN EVENING OF INDIAN DANCE features
DANIEL
SINGH, who performs in the Bharata Natyam
classical style, which is more than 2000 years old. The elegantly
ornate costumes and the hypnotic stylized movement conjure up an entrancing
world of ancient temples and royal palaces, mythic kings, queens, and surprisingly
unpredictable deities.

a synergistic fusion of visual art, dance and music. Jazz legend
Buck Hill has recorded saxaphone solo interpretations of portraits by local
painter YVETTE KRAFT. Celebrated jazz pianist PETER
EDELMAN improvises additional music, and choreographer DOUGLAS
YEUELL creates dance based on the canvases.

a tuneful and stirring original song cycle sung by the premier folk duo
Terry Leonino and Greg Artzner of MAGPIE.
Inspired by words of the famed Abolitionist and those who knew him, this
stunning program rekindles the furious passion and fiery turmoil of Brown’s
ill-conceived but long remembered crusade against slavery.
